EXTENDED QUARANTINE UPDATE
On Monday, April 20th, Governor DeWine extended the Coronavirus Quarantine for Ohio schools throughout the remainder of the 2019-2020 academic year. While this is not a surprise, we do recognize that this season has been very difficult on our families and students. Many families have had to make significant changes in their daily schedule, and investments in new technologies and skills in order to allow their children to continue learning. It is for this reason that the Faculty and Staff of ACA want to do the best we can to simplify the process for the home, while also continuing to promote excellent academics. The following announcements and FAQs are intended to clearly communicate the schedule and operating procedures throughout the remainder of the school year.
School Calendar
The Remote Learning phase will continue through the end of the school year. Weekly Assignment Sheets will be made and disseminated as with our current schedule. The last week of remote learning is Monday, June 1 - Thursday, June 4, but most classes will be able to finish by Friday, May 29.
StopGap Week
As a response to the quarantine extension, ACA will use the week of Monday, May 4 - Friday, May 8 to transition to the new schedule, as well as to give our families a recess from the typical weekly assignments.
ACA Staff will use this week to accomplish the following:
Work with students who are behind to get them caught up
Communicate the current progress of all students to parents (Mid-Quarter Report)
Finalize End-of-Year lesson plans
Classroom Cleanups
We encourage Parents to use this week to accomplish the following:
Retrieve all school and personal supplies from ACA
Complete our Remote Learning Survey via SurveyMonkey
Take a break!
Grading Process
Due to the use of several Remote Learning Tools such as ClassMarker, SpellingCity, KhanAcademy, and DuoLingo, we will be assigning grades to students and issuing Report Cards as per usual. However, some classes will adopt a Pass/Fail grading scheme, and some will be considered entirely ‘Elective’
The following classes will be considered Pass/Fail:
Typing via TypeTastic (Grades 1-4)
Creative Writing (Grades 5-8)

The following classes will be considered Elective (No Grades will be assigned):

Special Events

But we do plan to hold a virtual Award Ceremony & Graduation!
Details to be announced in May!
Tuition Schedule
